Carla Friesen is a compassionate and experienced Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) and Chronic Pain Coach who specializes in supporting individuals living with chronic pain, anxiety, stress, parenting, and life transitions. Drawing on over 13 years in private practice and a decade as a teacher and school counsellor, Carla brings both professional expertise and personal experience—having navigated chronic migraines herself and supported her daughter through persistent pain. She works from a biopsychosocial model of pain management, blending evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT), alongside pain science education, nervous system regulation, and mindfulness. Carla emphasizes sustainable tools like pacing, body-based strategies, and small, intentional steps that can lead to meaningful change over time. She offers a warm, non-judgmental space—virtually and in-person—where clients can build resilience, reconnect with their values, and move toward greater ease and well-being.
When she’s not in session, Carla enjoys traveling, crocheting, playing the guitar and singing, paddling with her local Dragon Boat team, and savoring a good latte (or two).
